Check the authenticity of the Goods with the phone application
Interpol said many cigarettes and counterfeit drugs on the market.
Interpol hired internet search giant Google to create applications for mobile phones to eradicate trade of fake goods.
"The more drugs, cigarettes, and other goods that are false in the market. So far the public is difficult to determine whether the goods they buy original or not, "said Ronald Noble, Interpol's Chief, told the news agency AFP, Wednesday (18/11).
"We want any existing software that could help the community and law enforcement officials to determine the authenticity of the goods with relative ease," explained Noble.
He explained this application will scan and the results will be immediately known whether such goods are original or not.
Green and Red
"If the application generates green color then the original item. On the contrary if red, then stuff it fake, "said Noble.
In the early stages of Google will incorporate this application for phones with the Android operating system, but wish such applications as well as Interpol is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile.
One of the first users of this application is PharmaSecure, who got the contract to examine the authenticity of the more than one million packets of drugs every day in India.
Interpol will also cooperate with the cigarette company British American Tobacco, Imperial Tobacco Group, Japan Tobacco International, and Philip Morris International.
These companies will provide product-specific codes them into Interpol, making it easier for the verification process.
