Google Maps and Google Earth is arguably the best online navigation application at this time, but still Google Maps did not escape any of the mistakes.

As was the case on one of the Islands, which are visible on Google Maps, the island is close to the New Caledonia should not exist.

The existence of the island was trying to prove by researchers from the University of Sydney, which was sailing hundreds of miles over the last 25 days to the location indicated by Google Maps, in which the island was supposed to be.

But in the end was just disappointment that had, instead of a ' new ' island to be discovered, because the intended location by Google Maps is simply vast tracts of blue sea as far as the eye can see.

Quoted by detikINET recorded from Venturebeat, Saturday (24/11/2012), currently named the island Sandy Island can still be seen via Google Maps or Google Earth.
But Google plans to immediately remove it any time soon. A spokesperson for Google berkilah, "the world is a place that is always changing".
